About
Inspired by a mission to serve the community, Pastor Jerry Baldwin - affectionately known as Pastor B, is a native of Natchez, Mississippi and came to Ruston in 1982, as a football coach at Louisiana Tech University. In 1992, he moved to Baton Rouge, La to accept a coaching position at LSU. In the Spring of 1999 he was named the head football coach at the University of Lafayette. The son of a Baptist minister, Jerry Baldwin operated in the teaching ministry for a number of years prior to the establishment of New Living Word Ministries (NLWM).
Pastor B is a sought-after pillar in the community and is an enthusiastic advocate of the Word of God. His approach to ministry with unshakable and unapologetic faith, is characterized by his candid yet loving style. This is evidenced through his innovative church and community initiatives such as The R.E.A.L. and the Restoration Program, which provide essential care to people experiencing homelessness and drug abuse - a testament to the breadth of his big heart and unwavering commitment to compassionate ministry.
Pastor B also dreamed of a Daycare - PK4-12 School and NLW School of Ministry where children and adults can learn the Word of God on NLWM church grounds. He believes in building a stronger community through education and faith-based action. His life mission is to serve others through Jesus Christ’s example - unapologetically delivering His Word to the world. In his words, “We are unashamed to confess that Jesus lives and reigns forever”. Through it all, Pastor Baldwin continues to unapologetically spread God's Word with love and passion, inspiring others to come closer to Christ through action, education, and transformation. It is clear why he has become respected by so many across the region - Pastor Jerry Baldwin is an undeniable example of faithfulness in action!
